A Court of Thorns and Roses (5/5)
A Court of Thorns and Roses
Sarah J. Maas
A Court of Thorns and Roses is a loose retelling of Beauty and the Beast (My personal favorite disney movie and princess) that tells the story of a huntress named Feyre, who lives in the human side of her world. Feyre's world is divided by a wall, with Faeries or Fae, on one side, and humans on the other. When Feyre accidentally kills a Fae while trying to get food for her family, she is taken to the Fae realm named Prythian to live with the high lord Tamlin (Swoon!) Feyre tries to escape and get back to her family, but she finds her plans are blocked when she starts to fall for this high lord.
This book is honestly one of my new favorites. I loved absolutley everything about this book. The world that Maas creates in this book is absolutley fantastic. Its a nightmare but also enchanting. Speaking of enchanting...this book has a lot of blushy blushy in it. The romance is epic. It's a little on the verge on New Adult, but its not quite there yet. The writing, pace, plot, and most of the techinical features of the book are spot on, and very enjoyable. The characters in this book are what really got me though. The internal struggles and the way that maas describes the hurt and magic of each character is amazing. I don't think ive ever seen characters done so well as they are in this book. I would reccommened this book to everyone, especially if you love high fantasy. And if you havent already guessed, this book is definatley a five out of five stars.
Basically, just go and read this book. Like right now.
